My first experience with the Fun Club was in 2015. I went to a luncheon, not knowing what to expect, and sat next to Wendy Merrill. I had so much fun with her that day that I knew I had found something very special. A group of women that were welcoming, interesting, intelligent, talented, and caring. Eight years later I am still in awe of our members. Our mission is friendship and fun and we certainly accomplish that. But we also care deeply for each other and are there for the good times and the not so good. Many life long friendships have been made and maintained over these years.
We have many fun events to look forward to this year. Working on one of the six luncheons and three social events is a great way to meet new members and long time members that we have not have the pleasure of getting to know. Southsiders and Northsiders give members the opportunity to connect in smaller groups. Certainly our book and bridge clubs provide education and stimulating conversations. I encourage all of you to enjoy as many of these activities as you can. You will not be disappointed.
We have several sources of news to keep you in the know throughout the year. Our website www.jldfunclub.org provides a wealth of information. On this site you can see the scheduled events, look for a member in the on-line directory, sign up and pay for dues, luncheons, socials, and other events. The monthly newsletter will include upcoming events, photos, coverage of past events, and interviews on new members, etc. And don’t forget our emails from the JLD Fun Club.
I am so grateful to be part of this organization and being the Chair is a dream come true. I would not be able to do this if it wasn’t for my board of incredibly capable and creative minds and mentors throughout the years. I look forward to connecting with each member this year and encourage you to do the same.
